What is Songkran?

Songkran is one of the popular festival in Thailand. It is called water festival. Songkran is an important Buddhist calendar Thai New year. It takes plances from 13-15th in April every year. 

The meaning of Songkran is that comes from a Sanskrit word meaning passing and approaching. It washes away the previous year so people get ready for next new one. They clean houses, schools and offices etc. They spend time with family. They wake up early during Songkran and visit Buddihist.
